Home Star Iowa provides professional home energy audits, blower door testing, HERS ratings, and BPI-certified energy assessments throughout Eastern Iowa. We’re based in Cedar Rapids and travel across seven counties — here’s where we work.

Linn County Service Area

Linn County is home base. From Cedar Rapids we serve Cedar Rapids and Marion daily, along with Hiawatha, Robins, Fairfax, Ely, Palo, and Center Point. We also cover the eastern and northern reaches of the county — Mount Vernon, Lisbon, Springville, Central City, Coggon, Alburnett, and Walker. Cedar Rapids is also home to our BPI Testing Center and training classroom. Linn County’s housing runs from historic pre-1940 homes in Cedar Rapids’ core to postwar ranches and newer suburban builds in Marion and Hiawatha — a mix where air leakage and dated insulation are the most common findings.

Johnson County Service Area

The Iowa City corridor is our second-largest service area. We test homes in Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty every week, and serve Tiffin, Solon, University Heights, Hills, Lone Tree, Swisher, Shueyville, and Oxford as well. From older University-area homes and bungalows in Iowa City to the newer subdivisions filling Coralville and North Liberty, the corridor’s range of housing ages makes blower door testing especially useful for finding where a home loses energy.

Benton County Service Area

West of Cedar Rapids we cover Vinton, Belle Plaine, Atkins, Urbana, Walford, Shellsburg, Newhall, Van Horne, Blairstown, Keystone, and Norway. Benton County’s housing stock leans toward older farmhouses and small-town builds — homes that often see the biggest gains from blower door testing and air sealing.

Jones, Cedar, Iowa & Muscatine Counties

To the east and south, we serve Anamosa and Monticello in Jones County; West Branch, Tipton, and Stanwood in Cedar County; Williamsburg, Marengo, and the Amana Colonies (Amana and Middle Amana) in Iowa County; and West Liberty in Muscatine County.
